Arab World Still Exploding, but Now Antisemitism Is in the Mix

Despite the heady rush of promised independence in Egypt, the ugly specter of antisemitism came on with a vengeance when protesters in Tahrir Square began brandishing posters of President Hosni Mubarak and his new vice president, Omar Suleiman, with Stars of David emblazoned on their foreheads. Sometimes the Jewish symbol was drawn on ties before the two were hung in effigy.

Combatting BDS Antisemitism: They Redraw Lines of Acceptable Discourse; the Pro-Israel Community Must Respond

The latest attempt to boycott Israel on a North American college campus was made over hummus. The Strauss Group, Israeli co-owner (with PepsiCo) of Sabra brand hummus, supports the Golani and Givati brigades with gift packages, and was thus accused of human rights abuses against Palestinians. Princeton students were urged to demand that other brands be offered on campus in addition to the offending Sabra product.
